EHOB, Inc (Indianapolis, IN) released the Foot WAFFLE® Custom and Foot WAFFLE Heel Elevator Custom, the company’s newest lower-extremity products.

The Foot WAFFLE Custom’s sloped design mirrors the natural shape of the leg as it angles from the calf down to the ankle, securely holding the leg and foot in place. Complete with new, air-filled straps, the product enables pressure ulcer prevention and patient comfort across the top of the leg and foot, while the foot strap and newly modified ankle section prevent shifting of the foot and assistance in the proper alignment of the lower extremity.

Navigating down the product, the foot-end portion of the Foot WAFFLE Custom features an adjustable, air-filled “pillow pad” that comfortably floats a patient’s foot while also assisting in the prevention of ankle contractures and the maintenance of normal ankle alignment for patients with foot drop. A Velcro strap located at the end of the product helps accommodate multiple foot widths and clinical applications, and can be adjusted either to float or protect the heel while the product’s wider opening from the knee to the foot offers increased air circulation. In addition, the lower profile across the bottom of the product is responsible for holding the foot in proper alignment. The new Foot WAFFLE Custom is recommended for single-patient use; available in sizes small, medium and large; and constructed with non-abrasive, medical-grade vinyl that is always latex-free.

Showcasing the same enhanced features and benefits of the aforementioned Foot WAFFLE Custom, the Foot WAFFLE Heel Elevator Custom’s only difference is that it fits lower on a patient’s leg. Given their overall sleeker design and natural contour, the all-new Custom products provide an effective product that delivers maximum patient comfort.

EHOB, Inc., a leader in pressure ulcer product innovation, is introducing a new, stronger handwell design on all WAFFLE Mattress Overlays. The patent-pending,
dog-bone shaped handwells, located around the perimeter of the product, naturally contour to the hand for an easy grip and a firm hold. With the updated design, caregivers maintain a comfortable, more secure stance while moving patients.

“Good patient care is important and so is the health and well-being of the caregiver,” said Dr. James G. Spahn, founder and CEO of EHOB, Inc. “The new handwell design allows the caregiver to maintain a solid grip without putting added strain on the shoulders and back.”

The dog-bone handwells are one of a kind in the healthcare industry and have been added to all WAFFLE Brand Mattress Overlay models. The handwells offer ease of use to the caregiver when turning and mobilizing a patient. And, unique to the WAFFLE overlays, the new design also assists in patient transfers.
